The definitive guide to shopping Dallas/Fort Worth
By: Sue Goldstein - Founder of the Underground Shopper
"And they call it, Puppy Love. But at least having a crush on this puppy won't flatten your wallet. Book your appointments about two weeks in advance for Saturdays and one week for weekdays. (Hey, when you're haute, you're hot!) Grooming rates vary by breed with a small additional charge for the convenience of pulling up in your driveway. You won't get away cheap but then again, having a Bichon means detailed and meticulous grooming. Now, a Shepherd-mix doesn't require the same deft hands. Anyway, we can't sing their praises enough. The convenience alone is worth the price of admission. In the older days, I trucked them to get their nails done; today, they have monthly standing appointments. And there are days when they actually jump with glee rather than flee when they know Puppy Love's pulling up. Their service extends to the mid-cities, Arlington and all of Dallas and their multiple Salons are manned by professional groomers who know all the cuts, from French Poodles to Yorkies, Maltese's to Akita's. And yes, certain groomers also do "lion cuts" on our Himalayan, Persian and others who think they are."
